Siberian Tigers

Most siberian tigers have a single baby; these species is protected by conservation groups. The diet of these animals usually consists of deer, fowl, wild pigs and occasionally fish. They need at least 20 pounds of meat a day to survive the cold climate of their environment. The method of their hunt is the following: they observe their prey from the place they hide and when the most suitable moment comes they do their fatal bite in the throat of the victim. Hunting requires a lot of skill and effort, and sometimes it is not until they have made 20 attempts that they finally kill a large prey. They are very strong, and can drag prey over a long distance. An Amur subspecies can consume up to 100 pounds of meat in one go, and if there is too much food, it can hide securely so that other animals cannot find it. These cats have a large hunting territory because of the lack of the prey and they are very aggressive protecting it; but as females are concerned they do not protect their territory and do not fight for it whereas the males are very aggressive. Females can be extremely aggressive in defending their cubs, and they chase anything that happens to be in the proximity of the lair. It is a well known fact that males may kill cubs that are the offspring of another male; therefore, females prefer not to leave them for a long time. Most siberian tigers have a single baby; these species is protected by conservation groups.
