Centuries ago there were much more representatives of these animals than today. Some animals were killed for the sake of hunting, others were killed because of their wonderful coats and others died, as they had nothing to eat. This is a consequence of deforestation, as the cutting out of even a small swath of forest can break the precarious natural balance and cause many animals to die or develop serious abnormalities. More to the point, lack of food has resulted in an increased number of attacks against humans. As for population, siberian tiger is not numerous, so conservation is needed to stop farms growing and preserve the habitat.
